The Voice

I am asked to do a wide range of reads,  and my actor training means I can handle almost anything, but here's a guide to my particular strengths.

Booming Blessed? Gravelly Winstone? Braying toff? That's not my thing. I am...

  • Light and melodic
  • Easy on the ear
  • Age range: 25 - 40

Warm and friendly, honest and genuine is my stock-in-trade.

  • A clear, empathic delivery, perfect for raising awareness films/animations or charity campaigns.
  • Need a more formal, professional style for your corporate? I do that too.

I'm from the north of England, but I can dial down the dialect easily.

  • Soft Northern England (Hull, E. Yorkshire)
  • Superb RP/Neutral English
  • A locker of authentic UK and US regional accents

I voiced Ernie Wise, Brian Jones, Derek Nimmo and others for the BBC series The Secret Files. After all, character is what I do as an actor all the time.

Matt Sutton

Voiceover, actor, stand-up comedian

I have been adding my voice to all manner of projects for the past 15 years, including tv and radio commercials, corporate video, documentaries, e-learning courses, web explainers.

After graduating from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, I have appeared on some of the biggest stages for the best companies in the UK (including the RSC) and in have performed in New York.

I'm also a stand-up and character comedian, which helps with timing those scripts which need to be millisecond perfect.

The Bodcast

In 2016, as Hull prepared for its year as 2017 UK City of Culture, I started a podcast about the cultural landscape of the city.

This is what you'll get...

The booth is fully acoustically treated  and kitted out with pro recording equipment. I can also edit, and I'll deliver wav, mp3, or any audio file format and resolution you desire.

I can record and deliver your audio quickly, particularly if the script is short. I'm also not fussy about reasonable pick-ups and tweaks - I'll be happy when you are.

Your place or mine?

If you'd prefer me to come to your studio I can do that. Or, you can direct our session over Zoom/Source-Connect/ipDTL etc. (150 mbps fibre broadband)

Get in touch and tell me what you need.
